Hi, I’m Amy —
Registered dietitian, nutrition science nerd, and firm believer that taking care of your health shouldn’t take over your life.
I became a dietitian because I’ve always loved food and been fascinated by its ability to influence our health. And the more I’ve learned, the more I’ve come to appreciate both the power of nutrition and the fact that there’s more to good health than what we eat.
My goal is to help you make sense of the science, focus on changes that can make a meaningful difference, and feel good about the way you’re taking care of yourself.
Because taking care of your health shouldn’t mean taking the joy out of eating or living.
How I got here
I grew up surrounded by women who loved to cook, experiment with recipes, and bring everyone together around the table. Between my love of food and curiosity about its effects on health, becoming a dietitian felt like a natural fit.
But the more I learned about nutrition, the more I started second-guessing my own choices. And as I searched for relief from chronic migraines, insomnia, and digestive issues, I found myself caught up in expensive tests, supplement recommendations, and an endless stream of new health worries.
Somewhere along the way, the pursuit of better health had started making my life worse.
I’d become so focused on finding root causes and natural solutions that I was overlooking the basics, questioning good science, and resisting treatments that could actually help. I had to accept that nutrition is powerful, but it isn’t everything.
These days, I still love a good research rabbit hole, but I’ve learned when it’s time to close the browser and get on with life.
These days, I still love a good research rabbit hole. But I’ve gotten better at recognizing which questions are worth digging into and when it’s time to close the browser and get on with life.
That’s the perspective I bring to my work today—helping people make the most of what nutrition has to offer without getting caught up in the endless search for the perfect answer.
